I’m looking for a perfect stranger, One who I have known before
Maybe in another lifetime, To come walking through my door
My heart’s been yearning for you, This time I feel so sure
Again that I will find you girl, To share our love once more
This time around

This time around I know I’ll shower you with kindness
This time around I’ll know exactly what to say
This time around I know I’ll leave behind my blindness
This time around I know that we will find our way
This time around

Or will we go around in circles for eternity?
Do the stars show that we’re destined to be fools?
Will we find each other one last time and do it right?
Will we finally win by playing by the rules?

I will keep searching for you in this lifetime
I swear I’ll understand this time around
‘Cause I’m so tired of missing our connection
I’ve been so lost and I need to be found

This time around
This time around I know I’ll shower you with kindness
This time around I’ll know exactly what to say
This time around I know I’ll leave behind my blindness
This time around I know that we will find our way
This time around

This time around
This time around
This time around
This time around

My lifeguard lover doesn’t want a ring
My lifeguard lover doesn’t want a ring
She doesn’t want to mess with our good thing
My lifeguard lover doesn’t want a ring

The boys in the breakers marvel at her skills
The boys in the breakers marvel at her skills
She walks out on the edge, undressed to kill
Yeah, The boys in the breakers marvel at her skills

She’s got her own wavelength, broadcasts every night
Yes, She’s got her own wavelength, broadcasts every night
And the tunes she saves for me are out of sight
Yeah, She’s got her own wavelength, broadcasts every night

My lifeguard lover doesn’t want a ring
My lifeguard lover doesn’t want a ring
She doesn’t want to mess with our good thing
My lifeguard lover doesn’t want a ring

In my room the walls surround
A quiet man who longs to be found again

Time and time I think of you
But you’re the past and you won’t do today

Someone new is what I lack
The world grows heavy on my back

Be patient, be easy, be calm

Strength will come and dwell with you, my friend
Don’t fly quickly, blindly to your end
Love will open up your eyes again

Be patient, be easy, be calm
Be patient, be easy, be calm

Well they say she breathes fire and she sleeps on a bed of coals
And she’ll douse you with desire, then she’ll fricassee your soul
If you’re talkin’ ‘bout passion, she’s the undisputed queen
And she goes by the name of Acetylene

Acetylene’s a girl that I once knew
She helped me with some things that I was goin’ through
That girl knew exactly what to do
Yeah, Acetylene

I met her in a place down on Bourbon Street
She came up close and I could feel the heat
She said “Baby, do ya wanna go?”, And I said “Yeah”
Yeah, Acetylene

She’s hotter than a pistol on the fourth of July
She’ll set your pulse to racin’ and your fever sky-high
She’s the fastest thing that your money can buy
But don’t talk to her about love ‘cause she’s bound to hate it
She won’t break your heart, she’ll incinerate it

She burned me down to the ground
And then she left me like I’d been struck dumb
She’s the kind of lover that you’ll never recover from

Well they say she breathes fire and she sleeps on a bed of coals
And she’ll douse you with desire, then she’ll fricassee your soul
If you’re talkin’ ‘bout passion, she’s the undisputed queen
And she goes by the name of Acetylene

Acetylene
Acetylene
She goes by the name
Of Acetylene

New Car Smell © 2011 Stu Skaroff and Millard Brown

I like girls of all shapes and styles, and I’m lookin’ for one with real low miles

She’s gotta be pretty and go like hell, I’m lookin’ for a girl with that new car smell

New car smell, baby, new car smell

New car smell, baby, I can tell

Lookin’ for a girl with that new car smell, come a little closer, baby, I can tell

Lookin’ for a girl with that new car smell, come a little closer, baby, I can tell

Don’t need a girl with no trainin’ wheels, just racin’ stripes on her six-inch heels

Waitin’ under the Christmas tree, flashin’ both green lights at me

New car smell, baby, new car smell

New car smell, baby, I can tell

Lookin’ for a girl with that new car smell, come a little closer, baby, I can tell

Lookin’ for a girl with that new car smell, come a little closer, baby, I can tell

Standin’ there with a showroom shine, with her thumb in the air on Highway Nine

She’s gonna be mine, baby, I can tell, I think I found the girl with the new car smell

New car smell, baby, new car smell

New car smell, baby, I can tell

New car smell

There She Was © 2011 Stu Skaroff

There she was, just a settin’ there
Cheshire smile by the Frigidaire
Squeezin’ honey from a plastic bear
In her underwear

Don’t remember where I found her
But I like to be around her
And I know that it’s here she’s gonna stay
‘Cause she’s got an ankle bracelet from the D. E. A.

Try a little more every night
Don’t you worry Baby, it’ll be alright
I love you just a little more every day
And it feels okay

Lights the Lucky from behind her ear
Asks me if I want another beer
Sports a tattoo that says “Your name here”
She’s a cause for fear
Don’t remember where I found her
But I like to be around her
And I know that it’s here she’s gonna stay
‘Cause she’s got that ankle bracelet from the D. E. A.

Try a little more every night
Don’t you worry Baby, it’ll be alright
I love you just a little more every day
And it feels okay

Mars and Venus ©2007 Stu Skaroff

She’s got a bee in her bonnet, panties in a knot

All she sees is red, and she’s runnin’ real hot

Don’t ask her what’s the matter, ʼcause you haven’t got a clue

But you can bet the blame will fall directly on you

Yeah you’re in the doghouse and you don’t know why

Well that’s what you get for just bein’ a guy

You better buy her some flowers and some eau de toilet

ʼCause this is somethin’ that she’ll never let you forget

Ain’t no use wondrin’ what it is that you’ve done

You’re from Mars, she’s from Venus, that’s the way that things run

Yeah, she’s madder than a wet hen

Goin’ off like Big Ben

And peace is nowhere to be found

Tropical Depression © 1998 Stu Skaroff

I been a thinkin’ ‘bout the hurricane

Wind and water that have gone insane

And don’t you know that every one of ‘em came

From a tropical depression

Oh yeah, the thing that makes a hurricane

When it hits, you better run and hide

If you don’t, it could be suicide

Only fools will let their money ride

On a tropical depression

Yeah, the thing that makes a hurricane

Board the windows up and lock the door

Especially if you’re livin’ near the shore

Yeah, it’s a big mistake if you ignore

A tropical depression

Oh yeah, the thing that makes a hurricane

A lot of wind gonna blow around

Put some pressure on this little town

Mother Nature’s gonna kick some ass today

Everything Is Really Fine Here © 2002 Stu Skaroff

Everything is really fine here
Everything is so serene
Everything is yours and mine here
Everything is nice and clean

Oh but behind the eyes the fires rage
And no outsiders see the stage
Upon which life and death are played
And countless figures are portrayed

Maybe you’ll be here tomorrow
Maybe you’ll be here today
I hate to only sit in sorrow
Come and take me far away

You see I feel the need to rant and rave
Because the world will not behave
I try my best to keep intact
But then I have a spaz attack

Then I can see them coming for me
Their coats of white are shining bright
Just take it easy they implore me
And then they hold me really tight

And then a momentary sting
And I can hear the angels sing
They take me to a better place
Where all my trauma is erased

Everything is really fine here
Everything is really fine here
Everything is really fine here
Everything is really fine here

Politician © 1998 Stu Skaroff

He was a politician

And he had a winning smile

And he kept his district happy for a while

He said that he was on the high road

But I guess he took the low

At least that’s what they said on the radio

Now he’s doin’ three to seven

With his most distinguished peers

Gentlemen who’ve served him through the years

And he’s polishin’ his golf game

And he knows he’ll soon be free

And his Cadillac is waitin’ for the key

And the rain pours down upon us

And we’re soaked through to the skin

And we go hungry watchin’ this guy win

Is it so hard to take the high road?

Well, it’s up to us to try

Then maybe we can look our children in the eye

Ice Cream and Cake © 1992 Stu Skaroff

Time it is draggin’, and I’m all alone

I called your number, but you wasn’t at home

I’m feelin’ so lonely, right down to the bone

I think I’ll have ice cream and cake

I guess I’ll have a party

Turn down the lights and cry

Nobody’s invited

Just me, myself and I

Lightin’ the candles, and makin’ a wish

Blowin’ ’em out now, and grabbin’ a dish

Holdin’ it steady

For a scoop and a slice

Havin’ some ice cream and cake

You know the elastic band on my hat broke

My noisemaker don’t work no more

All I’m allowed is milk, I can’t have Coke

No pile of presents on the floor

Well after the ice cream, and all of that cake

I’m holdin’ my stomach, it surely do ache

All of that sugar

Gonna keep me awake

Time for more ice cream and cake

Oh yeah

I’m gonna have me

More ice cream and cake

Oh yeah
